What a Morning of Plogging!
36km, 14.5kg of litter, 9 new friends… and a whole lot of joy.
This weekend, something brilliant happened. A small group of us came together with one shared purpose: to move our bodies, connect with others, and make our community a little bit better.
🌱 We ran.
🌱 We walked.
🌱 We picked up litter.
🌱 We plogged.
Between us, we covered 36km of local streets, parks, and paths — all while filling bags with rubbish and recyclables. We collected 14.5kg in total. That’s 14.5kg of waste that’s no longer clogging up our hedges, playgrounds or rivers.
But the real magic?
It was in the people.
We had:
3 @veganrunnersuk teammates, full of energy and good vibes
2 family members on a reunion weekend who rolled up their sleeves to join in
2 dedicated regulars who always show up, rain or shine
1 friend from the school run who got stuck in with a smile
And 9 brand new friendships formed along the way
It’s incredible what can happen when we simply show up.
This was more than just a litter-pick. It was a reminder that community starts with action — and that small acts of care can have a huge ripple effect.
We left with:
1 happier community
1 happier planet
And 1 very happy Claire 😊
Huge thanks to @planetearthgames for inspiring this movement. Your mission to make sustainability joyful and active is right up our street (and trail, and pavement…).
If you’ve never tried plogging before, come along next time. It’s free, it’s fun, it’s friendly — and it feels really good.
